A lackluster effort against an AHL lineup sealed their spot in their division

The Montreal Canadiens finished up their regular season schedule with a 4-2 loss in Philadelphia. The Flyers, who have already clinched a playoff spot and cannot move up in the standings, rested many key players. However, an almost full Habs' team did not take advantage, and were burned by the Flyers' young guns.

Brendan Gallagher and Jake Evans scored the goals for the Habs in the second period. Cole Caufield will finish behind Nathan Mackinnon for the goals lead, and will not win the Rocket Richard.

With the loss, the Canadiens end the season with 106 points, which is good for 6th in the entire league. Despite that, they finish 3rd in the Atlantic Division, and will face the Tampa Bay Lightning, who still have one game tomorrow, in road one. The two teams are tied at 106 points, but Tampa holds the tiebreaker with more regulation wins.

Despite the disappointing loss, it was still a successful campaign for the Habs. Suzuki accumulated over 100 points, Caufield reached 50 goals, Hutson and Slafkovsky reached new career highs, and Demidov led the rookie scoring race.

Game 1 will be in Tampa, date and start time to be determined.
