Despite two disallowed goals, Montreal still got the win.

The Habs were coming off a disappointing 4-1 loss to Philly, looking to bounce back against the Bedard-less Blackhawks on Thursday.

They did so, widely dominating and winning 4-1.

1st Period:

Despite a strong start, the Blackhawks would score on their first shot. St Louis challenged for goaltender interference, and the goal came back.

That wouldn't deter Chicago, however, as they scored again for real on their first shot on goal. A reflection by Nazar.

The first line would get that goal back when they forechecked and got the puck. Caufield passed it to Bolduc in the slot, who beat Knight to tie the game at 1.

2nd Period:

The Habs widely dominated this period, outshooting the Blackhawks 15-6, but couldn't beat Knight.

They did score on the power play, but it came back as replay showed Texier went offside before the goal. Stay onside.

Second period would end in a 1-1 tie.

3rd Period:

Early in the third, Bolduc got his second of the game with a deflection of Hutson's point shot.

They scored again, but it came back again as Evans went offside. Come on, guys.

Dobson doubled the lead for real when he banked it off of Knight behind the net. It looked like maybe Beck got his first goal, but he hit Knight's glove and not the puck.

Suzuki hit an empty-net to seal it. 4-1 Habs win!

Thoughts:

They deserved that win, which is something I haven't said a lot this year. They were the better team, outshooting them 35-15.

Mind you Chicago is without Bedard, so take it with a grain of salt.

Hab of the Night: Zachard Bolduc

First two goals at home this year. Nice to see that. Hopefully, he can keep that up. I still think he doesn't belong on the first lien, but I digress.

Shoutout to Lane Hutson with three assists. He's so good.

Next Up: Vs Penguins

Pittsburgh is not playing well right now, so naturally they'll win 5-1. Maybe they'll blow another 3 goal lead against us.
